Interfacing my front panels

by Sophea

It is probably quite difficult to see in this image as it is grey on grey, but I have two used a relatively light interfacing – light because of the quite thick, felt like weight of my grey fabric – to face my lapel and about the first 5cm of the Centre Front. This is typically done in tailoring although traditionally the interfacing would cover the entire top of the centre front and would taper down to about a 5cm point at the Centre Front. The idea is that the interfacing supports the front and adds some weight to the lapel so it rolls nicely.
