Drafting my jacket toile
From drafting on the stand I was able to play with ideas of how I could cut the shape. It was particularly difficult to draft this the way the designer had intended as it is going against the way that fabric naturally wants to sit. I am sure once I have gone into my fitting I will need to add a few nips and tucks to create a better shape on the actress but for now the inverted box pleat on the back is sitting nicely. The entire jacket’s pieces have Ben drafted on a flat paper pattern, so I can go back and alter them. I will need to go back and adjust the length perhaps once I start making in the actual fabric.
